Laid back place to work, generally. Very short hours for FS work. That's it.. I need to fill the min word requirement.
Inconvénients
Constant restructuring means perpetual RACI issues. Senior management are collectively ineffectual (particularly UK)... strong on management speak but weak at making evidence-based decisions. I couldn't believe the first OC meeting I attended! Risk management is seen as a box-ticking exercise rather than a useful function. Poor grasp of upcoming regulatory freight trains about to run the firm over. Relentless cutting of staff, then shock when errors occur. Very high staff turnover at the coal face, while senior management are seemingly un-sackable. Senior management look to switch roles every year to bolster their CVs. Huge sums of money wasted on aesthetic projects while base IT architecture is laughable (based originally on strawberry-picking software, unbelievably). The firm cannot say 'no' to its clients, meaning each one has its own bespoke process... not possible to automate them all, and yet the lay offs do not let up. Eventually it will go 'boom'.
