Avantages
For part-time physicians the job is flexible, 40 hours/2 weeks. Much can be done from home. Interesting work with challenges that aren't clinical (interpreting medical info, judging severity/risk implications, writing concise reports; but not responsible for any "care") , potential for good collegial relationships with other docs mostly via emails though some local docs too. (Fulltime docs have a little less flexibility and seem less content.)
Inconvénients
Team structure and leadership is poorly executed. Very productivity driven but much is out of the control of the individual doc (computer issues, fax line down, unable to get needed piece of information) so not for those who are easily frustrated. Really not treated like respected adults by management, but if you don't engage in trying to "fix" what's wrong, you can be left alone to get your work done and stay under the radar.
