Avantages
I want to say how amazing it was to work here. I absolutely loved working with everyone, and the team are all extremely knowledgeable and more than happy to assist with the junior members, and with as much knowledge and experience there is not a single person who makes you feel belittled or stupid about a subject or asking a question. When COVID hit the company kept in stride and continued to make sure everyone employed was happy and the company continued forward. I have experience across many industries, but nowhere else can you feel such a positive environment as what you get here. Just like with any other place, you get what you put in. If you have a terrible attitude and are not willing to learn, then you may not enjoy working here. However, if you come in with a positive attitude and put in the effort to learn you will be rewarded. I was employed for 6 months in the Support and Hosting departments, but I was moved up to Custom Development at 6 months due to drive and determination to learn and progress. If you have the drive, you will continue to grow! In short, by joining the team the pay for entry level position may not be as much as a larger company, but it is a great way to get into the industry and start with the experience needed to advance in the industry. Not to mention that there are a lot of learning opportunities, and plenty of directions you can advance.
Inconvénients
FileMaker is a niche market, which is not necessarily a con, but it gives you experience in a smaller market making it a little more difficult if you did want to move to another section of programming or software. That does NOT mean that it is not a useful tool, just that it is more focused. There are plenty of companies and people still using it, so it is a useful skill to have and a great way to create a career.
