The managers hired and promoted are not leaders, they manage out of fear and are not mature adults. They gossip more than the normal employee and talk to other employees about their own employees, and their not saying good things. They’re no written procedures unless they feel you’ve done something wrong. Very little guidence so you better know a lot about what you were hired to do. Definitely a boys club and you can cut the tension with knife. There are no perks, even if you’re a salary position, as they trust all the wrong people because they’re all friends. No team collaboration and no talking to your co-workers. Intimidation tactics and fear are their tools to manage their team. The key phrase is “don’t take it personal !! That’s not the key to running a successful office. Micromanaging is the top priority and I’m not talking about micromanaging work, I’m saying my boss literally monitored when I left my desk and took bathroom breaks. Pointed to his imaginary watch to remind me I was on his time. Yes, it does depend who you work for, however the business does not run properly and most are not held accountable, leaving a group of mediocre employees who don’t care and just arrive for a paycheck. Huge overturn because of management style and superiors that support them no matter what.
