Avantages
I spent close to three years working at PostureWorks, starting out at full-time, and then moving to part-time when I decided to return to school. Being a rehab specialist at P.W. was honestly the best job I have ever had. Actually, calling it a job feels strange. It was more like being part of a family--and I say that in reference not only to my colleagues, but also to the patients I got to serve. At PostureWorks, you're just so well taken care of. Not only did we all get free chiropractic care, but we could also attend free morning workout classes with our awesomely funny personal trainer, Dan. (Great guy). The docs who run the practice are also amazing, and they work really hard to create a positive atmosphere amongst the staff. As part of the wellness center team, you will meet together several times a week to discuss how the patients are doing, but also how the PRACTICE is doing. It's a very goal and vision-centered place. Probably my favorite part about being a rehab specialist here is that you just feel like YOU MATTER. This is NOT one of those jobs where you stare at a computer screen for hours on end, bored out of your mind. You're a guide and companion to dozens of patients every day, helping with stretches, traction, exercises, questions, and concerns. It's this wonderful combination of hands-on technical work combined with patient care and communication. When the patient shift starts, it goes for a few hours non-stop. The time flies by, and at the end of it you may be a bit physically spent, but you are emotionally energized. It's a great feeling.

SF is an expensive place to live! I suggest finding a place in Oakland and commuting if you are applying from out of town.
