Avantages
An exciting company to work. Change happening almost daily. If you can break into the leadership club, you may really enjoy working at Perforce.
Inconvénients
Company is focused on growth and only growth. They acquire company -after-company and do not take the time to fully understand the integrations or how each product may align beyond the marketing benefits. As a result, employees take on unreasonable responsibility to cut costs without much leadership involvement. They cut jobs early on in the process leaving existing employees with unrealistic expectations to keep things working. Leadership then moves on to the next company to acquire and never really finishes up the clean-up or mess they caused. Everyone realizes early on that you are just a employee cost to the company and can be laid off at any time, for any reason. Most of the technology staff are on edge with each acquisition. They also lost a lot of good employees that simply no longer wanted to stay and continue the risk of an abrupt termination. All the senior leadership are friends from a past company and a few should not be in a leadership role. They try to be very engaged with the employees and make it a fun place to work but this creates a culture where if you don't fit into the "club," you are destined for failure. HR has become HR with no considering for the employee engagement (it was not always like that). Most experienced engineers turn down job offers once they realize in the interview process the culture and lack of direction (it is apparent when taking to them).
