Avantages

Pep pays for your parking/public transit. Pretty decent health insurance (Health and vacation benefits start after 30 days of employment). 10 days of paid vacation each year. Most supervisors are easy-going here and will not micro manage you. The jobs are pretty easy and do not take much brain power. Cell phone reimbursement up to $48. Overall Pep is pretty generous with business expenses (client lunches, team outings, gas/mileage reimbursement)

Inconvénients

If you wish to have a meaningful career do not work at Pep. You will be a cog in a machine and you will be grossly underpaid for the value you bring to the company. Leadership will tell you that the perks make up for the low pay but if you take the time to do research you will find that this is not true. The perks make up a monetary value that is less than $3000 if that. Many people, especially those working in the more costly satellite offices have had to get a second job or are forced to find a room mate just to make ends meet. This is a very common reality at Pep. You will be working with billion dollar brands but you will not be properly compensated for the value you bring. Even my clients told me point blank when I was working there that Pep was underpaying its workers and they encouraged me to look for work elsewhere. Most people leave this company and receive $15-25K raises. This is reality. I'm sure someone in HR will try and comment on this post and say otherwise but the truth is you will be compensated better elsewhere. I took 10-15 interviews before leaving Pep and every single place was offering at least an additional $10K and many times much more. Even small companies and non-profits I interviewed for were willing to pay more than Pep. Just save yourself the headache and don't apply here. The last con to note is that you probably will not be respected if you work at Pep. Our clients see us as outsourced labor. There is no strategic marketing here. All you will do is open purchase orders on behalf of your clients, manage their invoices, and shop around for ways to save your client money. They client basically gives you all the work that their marketing team doesn't want. Turnover is really bad here. Most people will not stay more than 3 years. Some senior leaders (president/VP) are very shady and vindictive. They may stalk you when you leave and try to hurt your career after Pep. They are not supportive when people try to learn and grow. The only time they see your value is as you are walking out the door. Just leave this place alone.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy the work you were doing at Pep. Pep is a great company to work with and does provide a great career. We work very closely with marketing teams for large companies and help bring their marketing promotions to reality. Our clients truly value our work. We make sure that is the case through our promotion ratings. Clients are able to rate the Account Executive’s work on the promotion on a scale of 1-10 and also provide any comments as to how that promotion ran. We also strive to build strong relationships with our clients through different relationship building activities such as wellness challenges, in person meetings, and always working to add value through sharing industry trends, etc. HR, in conjunction with the leadership team, actively solicits and reviews feedback submitted through Glassdoor and many other avenues. We are consistently working to grow and adjust to keep up with the rapid expansion of our business. Pep cares deeply about the feedback of our employees and relies on it to guide us through these growing pains. Above all, we care about our people. Therefore, we greatly appreciate your candid response! We assure you that these issues do not go unheard, and are being carefully reviewed. We are troubled that you had a negative experience at Pep and wish you the best in your future career. Thank you.
