Inconvénients
Run by a CEO who struggles to relinquish any control, staff are micromanaged by a leadership team who are involved in the granular detail of every task. Native refuses to establish an internal structure or clarify individual roles, resulting in an archaic workplace with little accountability for projects. More often than not, several people will be asked to work on the same task without knowledge of each other’s involvement wasting time and resource. With no established line of authority, no induction process and very little diversity throughout the company, joining Native was truly a baptism of fire. A selection of the things I overheard whilst at Native: “He is like someone who has been locked in a basement too long and gets overexcited when he’s let out to meet clients.” “The staff turnover here is so high that we stopped getting to know new people because they’re normally gone within a few months.” “Those glasses are a bit gay.” (One of the leadership team to a member of staff) “If you can survive the first 6 months, it tends to get better.”
