Avantages

The employees here really are top notch and extremely hard working individuals with experience and industry insight. It’s great to work with such professionals. Unfortunately, that’s where the ‘Pros’ end. Before coming here I read all the 1-2 star reviews and hoped they weren’t true, giving Method the benefit of the doubt. Turns out, every one of them is true, regardless of the PR ‘spin’ trying to control the narrative that the company tries to put on it.

Inconvénients

Employees are stressed to the gills with their work load. It’s no wonder you don’t hear laughter in the office. Method intentionally understaffs and doubles the accounts that employees are assigned too, compared to other agencies. People are stretched too thin and it shows in the rushed conversations and the off-loaded work onto Jr. Associates. Culture. What culture? If by culture you mean heads down all day long, with no one talking to each other, consistently working through lunches and ON vacations, then sure there’s culture here. Forget about taking a vacation here. Employees constantly complain about having to work nights and weekends to make up for the time they take off. So there’s no real time off. The words “hand holding” are frequently used when referring to the leadership team and HR’s excessive rules that accompany every new initiative. The people here are high caliber professionals and aren’t given room to breath and be adults. A little more fun would go a long ways here. One hour a week for “music Fridays” in a closed conference room doesn’t count as making Method more fun.

Avantages

Method Communications fosters an environment where employees can drop the corporate facade and be their authentic selves, which made it easy to build strong relationships with coworkers. The work culture is generally kind and supportive. PTO and paid holidays are generous, which helped with work-life balance to a degree.

Inconvénients

There is a toxic, politically driven atmosphere within the leadership team. This undermines morale and often leads to confusion about company priorities. I experienced multiple rounds of permanent headcount reductions in my department, resulting in an overwhelming increase in workload without adequate compensation adjustments or recognition. As a result, my performance suffered due to burnout and a lack of support. While the coaches at Method are talented individual contributors, they possess little to no actual management or coaching experience. The absence of a leadership training program meant that many employees struggled with navigating the demands of their roles, which quickly turns into a mental health risk for teams. Despite being a growing company, there was no ERP system in place to support the $5M/year business. Technology constraints, sometimes stemming from directives from the holding company, hindered overall operational efficiency. A more proactive approach in advocating for the right tools would have benefited the company in the long run.
