Avantages

The environment can be really fun and energizing to work in. The music is usually pretty fun and the whole room is colorful and the is always something new to check out! If you love interior design/ decor or have a knack for color you will just enjoy the work. Love to hire and promote from within the company and can really be a great long term career.

Inconvénients

Older demographic as far as most of the staff, which is crazy considering it's very high school. There isn't necessarily drama, not more than salesman arguing, but it's very.. "gossipy" I guess? Can be super boring mid day and is definitely a fast paced, competitive, sales job. The expectations are high and you can definitely do great but if you're not a grade-A, natural salesman, you have to be willing to commit a LOT of time inside of that building. 5 days a week won't cut it if you want to really exceed, especially with no clientele. Very competitive and can even be somewhat... kniving...? People will do what it takes to make their commission. If you watch your customers you shouldn't have too much of an issue with people stealing your ups or stepping on toes but you can't be a bit** about it either. It's every man for themselves on that floor. The commission is very, veerery, low so you have to be pushing big numbers to make a comfortable living. At least for the amount of time you have to be in there. The rolling schedule is also a pain in the rear end.

Avantages

This position is basically a retail sales position for furniture that is great for anybody who is looking to build experience. They take the time to train you and do their best to help you succeed. It is not easy selling furniture and you get what you put in. They had no limit to the amount of hours you could work, so I got great overtime pay. They have a draw against commission pay structure, so you have to sell a certain amount to receive a commission check. It was my first sales job and I learned a lot, anybody who is willing to put in the work can be successful here.

Inconvénients

Difficult to reach quota some months, and it can be difficult to get customers depending on how busy the store is. Weekends are required and you will most likely spend more than 40 hours a week there.
