Avantages
I've been working for MBDA for just over a year in a full-time role. MBDA has lots of pros, which include: - Clarity of its vision and mission, with strong values at the core of its operations. This was one of the many things that attracted me to the company. - Substantial forward order book, giving stability and confidence in the company's future. - Clear and structured onboarding approach helping newer colleagues get up to speed quickly. - Because of the company's size, it has lots opportunities for individuals to pursue their career - I've met people who started in one department, made connections with others which then led them to switch disciplines. - Really interesting work, often pushing the boundaries of technical achievement. - Opportunities to work across functions on improvement initiatives and other projects to build broad networks and share better practice. - Training and support to develop individuals, e.g. achieving professional qualifications, mentoring, coaching, and membership of professional institutions. - Lots of flexibility to create and sustain a positive work-life balance.
Inconvénients
Because the sector is stable, has a strong forward order book, and lots of flexibility, employees can stay at MBDA for their entire careers. This can sometimes restrict progress, as newer employees bring new ideas that can be resisted at first, as they don't know how things 'might have always been done here', and many colleagues have never worked anywhere else. But this also creates opportunities - if newer staff are integrated well, they can bring new ideas to enhance current ways of working, while experienced colleagues with long service are valued for their depth and breadth of corporate knowledge.
