Culture of optics over outcomes. All sizzle, no steak - Avis employé Technical Consultant LinkedIn

Avantages

You’ll gain exposure to plenty of transformational initiatives, cross-functional synergies, and impact-driven alignment sessions. The brand equity still looks great on paper, and you can name-drop “LinkedIn” in future interviews with a straight face. There’s also a robust communication cadence — meaning endless meetings about “clarity” that produce none.

Inconvénients

Pay and benefits are mid at best. The place runs on performative productivity metrics and buzzwords. Leadership is obsessed with driving engagement instead of fixing the broken systems they built that destroy it. Consultants steer strategy, middle managers chase dashboards, and anyone with technical or institutional knowledge becomes invisible.

Avantages

LinkedIn has a strong engineering culture, smart and supportive teammates, and meaningful product impact at a large scale. I have had opportunities to work on complex systems, collaborate with experienced engineers, and learn from cross-functional partners across product, design, data, and infrastructure. The benefits, flexibility, and internal learning resources are also strong.

Inconvénients

Because the organization is large, decision-making can sometimes be slow, and priorities may shift before projects fully mature. Promotion expectations can feel different across teams, and the number of meetings can make it harder to protect deep-focus engineering time. Cross-team ownership is not always as clear as it could be.
