Avantages
Some very nice co-workers who are funny and keep things light-hearted and upbeat. Decent pay IF you hit your goal. Great benefits. Not the worst job I have ever had, but they need help there.
Inconvénients
Difficult to sell the product - Greeting Cards are not a growth industry for mom and pops. Management tries to be nice and acts like everybody is one big happy family, but really is just a little too micro-managing, stifling, and controlling. They play favorites all day long. If you don't hit your goal, the micro-management gets worse and more condescending. The threshold type of sales bonus structure is like something from a bygone era. This threshold 'bonus structure' becomes very, very stressful the last week of the month while you struggle to try and hit your goal. Especially because if you fall short you get nothing but a base pay that you could earn at a mindless job elsewhere.
