      Work/Life Balance. Belief in mission. Core Values.

      Inconvénients

      Lack of accountability of non-permformers. The mission of the lab is to retain the best scientists to produce scientific research that will lead to social benefits. As such, it's really a Hotel For Science, and only the guests get the star treatment. The rest of us are just here to make their stay as comfy and productive as possible, so we don't get the best treatment...

      Avantages

      Beautiful location, you oversee the Bay, Golden Gate Bridge and SF. Research environment, great bridge for academics to transition to a more applied research. Benefits quite good

      Inconvénients

      Low wages, especially in the scientific staff. Basically no career progression. Offices are a mixed bags (some departments have brand new buildings, others have very old buildings). Do not rely on their immigration services to get anything beyond temporary work visas.
