Avantages

I look forward to my classes every day. Their vision on teaching goes hand in hand with my own. Fun and interactive. You can also tell the students love attending. The atmosphere is great too. Diverse. Engaging. Maria and Fatima are the nicest people, always around to help when needed. They go above and beyond. They offer professional development workshops often for which you also get paid for. I honestly feel very happy to be part of the team and motivated to improve myself.

At first it seemed like a family, director seemed like a really great guy. Job was fun.

Inconvénients

Equal pay for equal work needs to be in compliance, supervisors are hired without any supervisory or management experience and it is very obvious. Again, they need to be in compliance with laws and they are not even aware of what they are breaking. This will get the company in serious trouble. During interviews, ethnic background should never come up, even in friendly banter, it is not allowed ever. Employees shouldn't feel used after they step up because they are needed due to being down a staff member, but then at the end of every semester they are told their job is on the line. Then a couple days to a week or 2 later, when enrollment was where management wanted it, now they are "part of the team again" and their job is safe. Do not tell employees to start looking for another job, unless you are completely sure they will be out of work. To then turn around and tell them then, that their position is once again available, is the best way to errode trust. If employees feel they are appreciated and treated with a modicum of loyalty, they will respond in kind. Don't make your employees feel like they are disposable and that their loyalty was in vain. You are a school. You need 2 things, teachers and students, so unless you are going out of business, you need to retain at least 1 teacher. To let go of your only teacher shows they are not valued, then suddenly giving them their teaching job back, doesn't change that and kills morale and trust. You know you will eventually have students, or you will be closing your doors. You need to keep your valued teacher, or you are showing them that you don't value them. In the past teachers were kept whether 1 student or 6. High marks from students should also mean something.
