Avantages
Zumba class locations will continue to flourish as Jazzercise locations diminish in the face of discrimination lawsuits, social media backlash, and its own poor management decisions.
Inconvénients
Where to begin? As a 20+ year Corporate Sales Manager and Facility owner, I was laid off after over 20 years of full-time employment, and only give 1 months severance pay. Yes, 1 lousy month after all those years. Sadly, I was not alone, as more than 40 others over the age of 45 have also been terminated after 10+ years. Jazzercise has been systematically firing all of their long time employees, specifically those over the age of 50 in the last 6-7 years. Currently, they only hire under 30 year old attractive females. They need to be investigated and prosecuted for these illegal actions. We currently have a large group of ex-employees working with an attorney that handles age discrimination cases, and hope to have our day in court. Please be aware that Jazzercise instructors and class owners make little to no money for the amount of hours and hard work required to become one. You will NOT make $10 an hour after paying 20% CFF off of your Gross Income to Jazzercise. Look into Zumba, as it pays more than twice as much per class, and is much easier to become a class owner with. I wish I had switched years ago, as I'm now enjoying the much more current choreography, music, and customer base......along with twice the income. Teaching a Jazzercise class pays between $8-$15, where as Zumba is $20-$35.
