Avantages

The people are great here for the most part and the benefits make it near impossible to leave.

Inconvénients

The company is too director heavy, "too many chiefs not enough indians" mentality. Policies aren't enforced as they should be a lot of the time.

Avantages

IREA was a family type business. The employees look after each other and care about each other. The pension plan really is impressive. If you like electricity, this is one of the best places to have a permanent career in the industry. The org chart is pretty flat so your work can easily be seen by the CEO. Shielded by a volatile market, so if jobs are lost in the economy there is a great chance that you will still have a full-time job at IREA.

Inconvénients

The org chart is flat so there isn't much growth in titles or salary. Change happens very slowly so patience is required. I left because there was less focus on people and more focus on getting more and more projects done. Though the salaries and titles did not expand to fit the amount of work to be done.

Avantages

Terrific group of colleagues within department and outside department that work as a strong team. Salary and benefit package strong.

Inconvénients

Too many sub-managers. Seniority not recognized when hiring occurs. A temp will get hired over a permanent employee. Lay offs not considered for new job openings nor contacted when application is received.
