Crazy amount of gossip. (This review will probably be read out loud in the office, or forwarded around.)
Deadlines rarely met, which means a lot of guesswork, busywork, and wasted time. Errors often caught late in the game, sometimes making it into print.
Limited to no opportunity to do anything outside of print, so if you’re not interested in print editorial only...eh.
Poor communication between art / edit teams, super poor communication from dept. heads. The pro to that is you sometimes can take creative control, but don’t be surprised if it’s shot down last minute.
Out in the sales floor...a lot of crude jokes, totally demeaning & inappropriate. Super, super loud, which makes it difficult to concentrate in the office. Not the best atmosphere.
