Avantages

Probably lesser politics. A brand name. To keep the brand name probably they will not fire easily hence job security is better in recession time. Right time right place is always there for every one in every aspect but probably you will get good learning opportunities. There were number of items were there in the list but with time they are no longer with company.

Inconvénients

Salary is less and management and HR is busy in finding ways to reduce it further. They are so good in it now they will reduce it and show it like they have increased. Things which were there in past and have changed on bad side: Good onsite salary previously - no hike in past 6 years and the countries where it was good it has been cut as bad as 30%. recent example germany. salary hike and promotion: 2008 little hike. 2009 no hike. 2008 1 or 2 promotions in rarest scenario. in 2009 officially no promotion. growth earlier was good now: they have increased number of years at each level this means now it will take longer to get promotion and hike. There is slow growth and no growth. Company culture: Now they record entry and exit each time you leave you section. no benefit for working late but if recorded hours come less than 7 half day leave cut if 4 hours full day leave cut no matter if you have worked 15+ hours for days before it. Back to old bandhua majdoor days i guess.
