Avantages
This is a thriving business, so staff are busy and active. They cater to a broad range of customers, by selling a broad range of goods. Good customer service is expected, which generates happy customers. Wages, time sheets, holidays and breaks are managed efficiently. Upper and store management are very hands on, friendly and approachable, very keen to create a harmonious working environment, and passionate about customer service. This is a growing business and can be a fun environment.
Inconvénients
Because of the nature of selling excess stock as well as stock from suppliers, the work place can become somewhat chaotic and cluttered. Most stock has to be individually priced, and often security tagged. Staff are outside a lot of the day, but if possible protected from exposure to rain by appropriate scheduling of jobs. Staff are expected to check customers who trigger security alerts on exiting the store. All shop staff have to work one day every weekend. I have put these in cons as, with the exception of being outdoors they are cons to me, but aren't really at all bad.
