Avantages

Some of the smartest people you will ever work with. Interesting and big problems. Moves very fast compared to most software companies.

Inconvénients

Workload is intense and the bar is high.

Avantages

Really lovely people. Great work life balance, and interesting work.

Inconvénients

In the crypto space, so reliant on the ups and downs of the industry. Lay offs were common despite making it sound like the company had years of runway to live through bear market conditions

Avantages

The job was fun and rewarding. The company culture felt like a good fit for me until it suddenly wasn't.

Inconvénients

After losing my wife to a brain tumour, I was finally able to restart my life and career. Immutable was where that journey started. At Immutable, my work was universally praised and I had a genuinely good time doing my job and I finally felt like I was on my way. The skies were clear and I felt good. Then, with 3 days warning, my "position was eliminated". The work for this position still needs to be done so this didn't make a lot of sense. Nobody asked me to do anything different or differently, and I was assured by every manager I spoke to that I was a pleasure to work with and I never had a negative comment about the quality or quantity of the work I was producing. So when the rug was pulled away, it was difficult to process. I was suddenly without medical insurance in the middle of a cancer scare (biopsy was negative), It was a tough situation to be in, especially when I didn't do anything wrong. The person that I'm told made the decision never interacted with me in the course of my job, and later bragged that they "didn't consider the individual" when making these inexplicable decisions. Who brags about that? It's not a positive management trait to treat employees like numbers and nothing else. It's a huge mistake to pretend they aren't people at all. I'm not sure I could ever trust them again.
