Avantages

-Some of the individuals I worked with were truly excellent at their craft, and I wish I had gotten to know them under different settings.

Inconvénients

-They will pay significantly less than competing jobs in the area. -They provided little to no professional development -I had to use personal computers during my first full year at the company because they refused to purchase me a laptop to use during mandatory remote work. -There were managers in charge of employees that had zero professional experience in the field they were managing. -Managers often failed to communicate deadlines, and are constantly playing "catch-up". -There were massive gaps in communication. Certain employees just didn't respond to emails, and weren't held accountable. -There was always a significant "hurry up and wait" aspect to the work, where deadlines were inconsistent with other projects or teams and management had no desire to change or adapt. -There was an illusion of creative freedom, where you are told to get creative, then have a manager tell you it's all wrong and to do it exactly how they want. -In my tenure they acquired several companies, gutted the staff of said acquisitions, and had employees take on significant additional tasks without a plan to distribute the workload properly. -Projects were often undertaken without a plan, or idea on whether it was physically possible to accomplish. -Managers were often shielded from any criticism, while also taking credit for everything their direct reports accomplish.

Avantages

- Depending on the team, you can have a good work/life balance - Given they hire a lot of new grads who are building a community in the area, it's pretty easy to get involved in social groups and make friends in the office

Inconvénients

- Depending on the team, you may have poor work/life balance - Top-down culture - many typical responsibilities a given role would have (at least in engineering or product) in other companies are separated out. While not necessarily good or bad, it can catch people who are used to more autonomy in their decisions off-guard - Slow growth trajectory in roles and experience / learning which can be unfortunate for those starting off in their careers - Immature feedback / leveling loop - It was fairly common that people got feedback or temperature checks from more casual conversations with peers or other teams rather than formal reviews or manager conversations
