Avantages

- HMS team camaraderie; tight-knit group. The happiness I had from the job was from the team alone. - New direct HMS manager is a 10/10 person and manager. Business Ops manager also 10/10 person. They treat you like they genuinely care. - The work is pretty enjoyable and you learn a lot. The team is always willing to help. - $100/month stipend for internet and $50 for phone. - HMS is fully remote unless you live near Philly and they need you onsite for a project. - Not really pro/con, but go in expecting that they will require that you take yearly certifications in your field, otherwise you will be fired or not reviewed well (seems to be common for tech companies though) - thankfully, they do cover all costs associated with the certifications.

Inconvénients

- People are horribly underpaid. Older engineers who were paid a lot more were pushed out/fired and replaced by lower cost people. - General turnover rate is just not good. Please do your research. - You are not allowed to speak to other groups in the company without permission from directors. It’s such a small company that it makes you feel like you’re on an island alone with your team. - No comp or pay for PagerDuty weeks, no matter how long it keeps you awake. They do comp days for patching though. - Too many clients/tickets for the amount of engineers on the team. - Management claims that they care about the issues your team faces, but their actions speak far louder than their words here.
