Avantages
FirstRain is a Silicon Valley based startup with established company sensibilities. The CEO, an "acquired taste" for some, is a force of nature. Penny is an extremely high energy, hard driving, hands on leader that sets high expectations for everyone on the team (including herself), but also makes sure to keep things fun. Penny and FirstRain's COO YY also put a huge emphasis and investment of time in developing the people and culture. As a result, those that succeed at FirstRain tend to be bright, focused, innovative, relentless, "can-do" team players. I can honestly say that some of the smartest (and nicest) people I have worked with in my career are at FirstRain. After years of searching for the right market niche, it appears that FirstRain has found it in the sales intelligence space, so watch out!
Inconvénients
It's a startup, so if you are used to "big company" politics, resources, etc., you will have a hard time adjusting. The company is still small and gaining traction, so every deal counts -- which can make quarter end stressful for everyone, especially sales people. Lots of VC money (by a big VC, I might add) has been invested in this company, so the timeline to an acceptable exit may be longer than some may prefer.
