Avantages

FireHydrant has been a great place for me to grow my career. Given the start-up nature of it all, I have had the opportunity to take on responsibilities that I hadn't previously had at other, larger orgs where a lot of systems/vendors/etc. were already in place. With the greater responsibility came a myriad of opportunities to learn & develop new skills and with that, provided the opportunity for me to grow in my career to the next level via promotion. The nice thing about FireHydrant is that this wasn't a one-off experience. I've seen quite a few others step up and get rewarded as well. It's a great place to be if you're looking to get to the next level, and fast. It also doesn't hurt that FireHydrant pays well (on top of pay transparency) and has quite competitive health benefits. I have better benefits here than the other companies I've worked for in the tech space. On the culture side of things, I thoroughly enjoy the people that I work with on a day to day basis. The folks I've worked with have a good attitude and take a team approach to addressing problems/finding solutions. They work hard but also like to have fun and I've been able to create long-lasting friendships with a handful of my colleagues. I'm always able to count on my teammates to get stuff done, which is especially nice in a fully remote environment.

Inconvénients

The caveat to the "Pros" is that things move very quickly here given the start-up environment. Sometimes you'll start going down one track and have to pivot completely - which can be exciting for some but frustrating for others - depends on how you like to work. You'll also likely find yourself creating/setting up new processes that don't exist yet. Again, big plus for some, not as exciting for others. As with working for most other companies, work life balance ebbs and flows. There are times when my weeks are steady and others where I'm working long hours based on what the business needs. That said, leadership is generally supportive of creating the kind of flexible schedule that works best for you and your needs.
