Avantages
Compensation package was reasonably good, and this is probably it.
Inconvénients
Work/life balance was notably poor, with long hours, including weekends, being the norm. Despite this, there was little to no recognition or appreciation for the effort and hard work put in by the team. Really concerned about the bright, talented individuals who have joined the company, especially those straight out of university. These fresh graduates enter with optimism, creativity, and energy, but this environment is unfortunately more likely to lead them towards burnout rather than helping them grow their careers. Instead guiding these individuals, the institution seems to push them towards exhaustion and frustration, which could severely impact their future career paths. The approach to problem-solving often prioritized quick, short-term solutions over well-thought-out, long-term strategies. Recurring issues were frequently patched rather than addressed at the root, leading to constant firefighting and inefficiency. The distributed nature of the team across multiple time zones also created challenges. Instead of fostering collaboration, it often resulted in unresolved issues being passed along and ignored, becoming someone else’s problem. This lack of accountability hindered productivity and delayed real progress. Micromanagement was a persistent issue, compounded by a lack of leadership skills within the management team. It often felt as managers lacked the necessary training to effectively communicate and support their teams, which created a tense and demotivating work environment. In the span of seven months, seven team members left, highlighting the high turnover and general dissatisfaction within the team. This speaks to a deeper problem with the company’s culture and leadership. Ultimately, the company seemed to operate with a “survive another day” mentality, rather than striving for sustainable growth and improvement. This short-term focus, combined with a lack of accountability and appreciation, made it clear that long-term success was not a priority. Advise would be to stay away! Career destroyer.
