Avantages

Work on stable government contracts that don't generally require high performance and have a consistent schedule

Inconvénients

Work for messy government agencies that don't generally allow/support innovation and growth. Contracts are stagnant and dumbed down and employer/employee negotiations are almost nonexistent. They just coast along and change slowly.

Avantages

Good work-life balance and supportive team culture. Projects feel meaningful because they support large federal programs. Flexible environment with opportunities to learn new tools like SQL and Power BI via internal platform, Pluralslight. Leadership is generally approachable and coworkers are collaborative and helpful.

Inconvénients

Salary growth can be slower than the private sector. Some processes are bureaucratic and decision-making can take time. Career progression paths are not always clearly defined, especially for analysts wanting to move into senior roles quickly.
