Avantages
The work done here is of the utmost importance for those that are passionate about young people, the justice system, and health. People that work here by and large are doing so because they love the work and found a comfortable home to achieve their professional goals. It is a small company that is run with a family-like atmosphere and though it may lack in the infrastructure of other large consulting firms doing similar work, you will never be bogged down by the cumbersome, formal procedures and practices the big companies have. In previous jobs with large companies I felt trapped at times and didn't have the freedom to pursue things I wanted to or even to just feel comfortable being myself as a truly family-first person, but that was not that case here. I was supported in every way as a parent and family-oriented person. You have a real opportunity to grow your own career and will get support in pursuing projects that you are passionate for. There is generally good flexibility and if you have family, personal, or work life issues, management will work with you to find a solution.
Inconvénients
-The family-like atmosphere may not be for everyone. In my experience this was not a con, but other may not feel the same way. -As with any company in this field, you are dependent upon contracts and grants. This can be particularly challenging in the justice and health fields. Not a poor reflection on the company in my opinion and more so just the nature of the field, but can be a challenge nonetheless. -If you are not ready to work very hard on your current work and in the pursuit of new work, it may not be a good fit.
