Avantages
Working at Dcode has provided me the opportunity to have a voice in shaping the company's strategy and culture. The leadership team is receptive to new ideas and hires people for their expertise, to lead and not to be micromanaged for the most part. We have a rotating monthly culture squad and regular company-wide meetings to foster communication about goals and constantly improving. Plus, improving the government through better technology is important!
Inconvénients
In my experience at a few startups, at around the 20-employee mark, companies tend to start to feel the strain of outgrowing meetings and processes that worked when the company was 7 people. Dcode is not an exception to that growing pain. All teams are working together to improve and lay the groundwork for scaling well past 20 employees. Part of why I seek companies at this stage is because I love starting something from scratch, and the reality is that can be tough on some days: there's not a manual to refer to, and you probably have to take the initiative figure a lot out. On days when this gets old, I'm extra thankful that the Dcode team has a deep belief in "no teammate left behind" and is eager to jump in to help.
