Avantages

I've been here four years and these have been both the most challenging and most rewarding years of my career. There is always an opportunity to learn something new here which I value more than anything else in a job. Databricks invests in its people and has helped me grow in my professional goals so far. I feel like I have a long future here as there's still so much we as a company and I personally can accomplish. The company has great leadership and clarity of vision. The products themselves are truly best in class and the product velocity is impressive especially given our scale. Maybe most importantly, the people are great to work with-- there are a ton of smart and accomplished people here to learn from and there is a great culture of teamwork, humility and support.

Inconvénients

Company has grown so fast it has outpaced some of its systems and processes. More can be done to centralize/index information to make it easier to find answers to your questions as they come up. And not necessarily a bad thing per se, but expectations are very high and the work is challenging so the level of effort required is high.

Avantages

Great teams made up of smart, motivated people. Databricks is an exciting place to work because it is part of the growing data and AI tools space. The benefits and income are also good overall.

Inconvénients

Databricks no longer feels like a startup. There are now multiple layers of bureaucracy, and leadership can feel territorial rather than collaborative. Over time, it can seem like business growth and internal politics have become stronger drivers than innovation or employee experience. For long-tenured employees, it may become harder to stay excited or feel challenged. Other companies may offer a more energizing environment.
