Comverge is in the clean energy sector, and the employees almost all feel as if what they are working on is important. This is a very family-friendly company. While developers typically work in pairs, and it is important to be at the office most days, the company is also very flexible if you need to work from home on occasion. Arrival and departure times average 8:45 AM and 5:00 PM, respectively, but are very flexible depending on personal circumstances. Fairly rare for developers to have to work late nights or weekends. Benefits are in-line with other software companies. PTO is 15 days first 4 years. 3% matching 401(k), good health/dental/vision options, standard disability and life insurance. Some tuition payment benefits if you want to continue education while working. Snacks and coffee/tea stocked in the kitchen. PTO policy seems a bit stringent when other software companies can advertise "unlimited" PTO. Can be difficult to get managerial feedback about performance and long-term development plans. Since headquarters are in Atlanta, sometimes the developers feel cut off from the long-term visions and plans for the rest of the company. Open floor plan layout can be difficult on more introverted developers.
