Avantages
Fun, young, hardworking co-workers who may make the long hours in and out of the office worth it. This is a good opportunity for an entry level candidate, fresh out of college, who doesn't mind meager pay and lots of travel. Travel is rigorous with events every weekend, but includes mostly destination cities on the company's dime.
Inconvénients
Make no doubt about it, this company is focused on bottom line, not on employee happiness. Everyone wants to work for this company, which allows upper management to maintain low salaries. Raises are no more than 5% year, so your starting salary is VERY important to negotiate. The travel is relentless, which skews work-life-balance to just 'work'. No matter what your office job may be, be prepared to work the not-so-glamorous side of event life, which includes: 12+ hours of manual labor on event day (typically starting at 3 am after three 12+ hour days at the tradeshows), getting yelled at by crazy runners, and attempting to function on 2 hours of sleep. Upper management can be rigid, out-of-touch, and unnecessarily condescending, which is unfortunate for the hard-working team that answers to them.
