Avantages
This organization is doing things that I've read that others have been trying to do for much longer. It's fast-paced and the standards are high, but with good reason. The student outcomes are phenomenal. I had the opportunity to work with a small group of students as well as speak with those who entered paid, Summer internships and their lives were changed forever. I wasn't meant to support a group of students, but it speaks to the size of the organization and how you may wear multiple hats at times. I loved working with my colleagues who were mostly hard-working and passionate team members. Even though most of us were remote, I think it led to more interaction with team members and there were several cross-functional opportunities to partner as well. My manager regularly shared questions that pushed my thinking and was supportive when it came to development opportunities.
Inconvénients
There tends to be a lot of gossip in the organization fueled by mistrust of leadership. I didn't know about these Glassdoor reviews until somebody asked me about applying to Code2College and mentioned these. I'm not surprised by the comments because they mirror things said within the organization as gossip. I didn't participate in it, and the one time I was brought into a conversation like this I suggested sharing that feedback. I don't think the advice was taken. When I was there, we had regular meetings and opportunities to provide live, anonymous feedback.
