Avantages
Well remunerated, very interesting subject material, and a lot of flexibility and independence as an intern which is rare.
Inconvénients
The onus is mostly on you to find, and do work. It can get a little tiring having to do this yourself. Perhaps a little more delegation from senior consultants would've been welcome. The EU Commission is their major client. If Britain left who knows what would happen to their business.
