People-first companies don't fire people over slack - Avis employé Employé (anonyme) Bridgit

Avantages

There are some good people working here but they're not in management.

Inconvénients

Bridgit makes a lot of noise about being people-first but noise is all it is. They fire people just as fast as they hire them. I saw at least 3 people go from being darlings of the company to pariahs, over-night. The barely-more-than-teenage founders follow their whims, and likelihood of your success seems based on results of a popularity contest. I know of at least two people who were let go over slack with no explanation -- one had been promoted just a few weeks prior to that. I know of two others that were let go the week before they had surgeries scheduled, leaving them with no insurance. Each of these people were top performers. Regarding work-life balance, that's also a sham. They tout 4-hour Fridays but nobody is actually able to accomplish that. People work long hours with unreasonable deadlines.

Avantages

I have been very impressed by level of communication—and communication style—across the company. There is certainly a lot to do, as there is at any startup, but Bridgit is relatively free from the frenetic throw-spaghetti-at-the-wall approach that's far too common at startups. No egos + empathetic executives make for a solid culture. Resources (budget, tools, etc.) are available as needed.

Inconvénients

Collaborating across timezones can be tricky, but worth it in exchange for the benefits of remote work.

Avantages

- Good people (besides c-suite)

Inconvénients

Where to begin... - Poor management - CEO runs everything based on popularity, hires her friends who have no experience and they magically get multiple promotions a month in - Terrible work/life balance (even though that is one of the "perks") - Belittling during team meetings when concerns are brought up - Shady practices Overall a terrible place to work.
