Inconvénients
In 2011 Endurance International Group bought Bluehost. Endurance has beens shown to lie about their revenue numbers The CEO shifts money between his and his sister's business to work the market. Earlier this year (2015) all positions handing email contact with customers were outsourced to India. We were promised by Bluehost upper managment that there would be no more outsourcing. They then moved all phone contact for one of the brands (Justhost) to India. Now it's been announced that all chat system contact will also be moved to India. It's only a matter of time before everything but the data center and upper management is moved to India. The workspaces are awful. They're always dirty, cramped, and some people have to move desks multiple times throughout the day because there are too many people and seating conflicts. Some employees have to bring their personal computers to adequately do their jobs, but the company gives them no compensation for this. The bathrooms are disgusting and rarely have soap or toilet paper. Pre-2013 Bluehost had fridges and freezers and cabinets with tons of food for everyone. Now they have a small gas station type convenience store and they give you $10 monthly to use on the overpriced items. If you want to bring your own lunch it may be thrown out or eaten by someone else, that is if there is room in the fridge to begin with. There is no management. The "managers" don't really do much at all, except complain about what they have to do. They're all extremely unprofessional and only care about their goals, not the employees. Promises are constantly broken. People are forced into schedules they can't work. Promotions are usually based on favoritism and politics. If you are successful few people care. They are constantly understaffed, constantly hiring, and underpay. It's nearly impossible to get anything done because everyone who actually works has so much to do. They can't hold on to people because of how crappy they treat the employees. They haven't raised the base pay in over 5 years. Thus, they're hiring more and more unqualified people who don't know what they're doing. If you are qualified for a job here it is guaranteed that you can be paid more for that job somewhere else. They made a change in their commission structure in March. They delayed continually, saying they would pay the additional commission out later. The CEO, VPs, and Directors promised multiple times that it would be paid out. In August they finally said that it wasn't going to happen. Many employees lost out on thousands of dollars. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a class-action law suit coming their way. The managers often don't get paid their promised bonuses, nor do the other bonus based positions. Also, if you do ever get a promotion, they will delay it until just after your yearly review. This way they can have your raise from your promotion cancel out your yearly raise. It's happened to just about everyone who has been there a while. My review is very detailed. The sad part is that if they read it, and if they care to find out who wrote it, they won't be able to narrow it down at all. There are so many outraged people who have left and are on their way out.
