Inconvénients
Insane monitoring tools and practices. Requirements go as far as making sure your in-focus app is a code editor for at least 70% of your working hours and tracking a large number of mandatory code commits PER DAY. Efficient work is actually discouraged at this company. There has also been a recent push, accompanied by layoffs, to shift most tech work to their Indian offices. Not that you can really tell the difference between New Delhi or New York, as the majority of employees on the tech side are from India in New York as well. This can be very tough for non Indians as English is not always spoken and the culture of the office is very much Indian and can feel quite excluding. The senior management of the bank are also extremely out of touch with what the engineering department does and as such treats them as second class employees. The head of Tech is also a pompous fool with no regard for his employees so that doesn't help matters.
