Avantages

It's a lovely physical working environment, beautiful surroundings and nice offices. There's a pub onsite, a shop and lovely walks in the summer. There is always plenty of legal work so you'll never get bored and people are generally nice, educated and polite.

Inconvénients

You need to be aggressive, focused and ambitious to get ahead at AZ. It's very much who you know, not how well you do. Managers have been there for years and don't want to go anywhere else, so they are not particularly progressive (eg flexible working as an alien concept when I was there). Salaries are not the highest and bonuses tend to be on the low side, but that depends on where you are in the organisation. I worked like a dog on a long term project and was given a bonus of £2k whereas the project manager's bonus enabled him to buy a house in Italy! Hmmm, bit of a mismatch there since I probably spent longer on the project than he did.

Avantages

I imagine this is very dependent on line management but I find my team and supervisors to be true champions of a high performing and highly compassionate work culture. I find my work challenging and rewarding, and have had opportunities to learn and grow and be rewarded and recognized for my output. No job is perfect but I’m truly happy to work here and at a time when AZ is truly rising like a rocket.

Inconvénients

Like any massive global corporate entity, things can sometimes move slowly and it can be challenging to navigate a high number of constantly evolving priorities and initiatives. That being said, AZ is very clear about its north stars and values which makes it possible to prioritize work that has the most impact and alignment with the company’s ambition and business prerogatives. 60% office attendance policy is also a bit funny when oftentimes I am on Teams calls with colleagues sitting in other areas of the world.
