- The pay is higher than a normal retail job BUT they tell you not to communicate pay with your coworkers even though it’s completely legal to. They pay some employees a lot less than others and want to get away with it.
- The clothes are fun and the discount is good (40% off and sometimes 70% off)
- You will enjoy some of your coworkers and make good connections with clients
Inconvénients
Where do I begin….
- They schedule you LAST minute. They only schedule ONE WEEK ahead. They don’t care about your work life balance. Sometimes we don’t even get our schedule for the next week until Tuesday/Wednesday. Incredibly unprofessional.
- Micromanaging to the max
- Managers use ChatGPT to communicate (zero empathy)
- Managers are late to their shifts but get upset when you are 5 min late due to holiday parking or life in general
- They really pressure you to make sales because they only care about money
- Managers benefit off of your hard work and get bonuses when making sales goals but as an employee you get nothing
- You only get hours based on the sales that you make
-They treat the store like it’s a designer boutique when in reality it’s all polyester and basically one step above Forever 21
- There is a black out period during the holidays where you are worked to the bone and cannot request time off but management will take time off as they please
- You will never be able to leave on time
- You get 30 minutes to eat. That’s all. Even during a NINE HOUR shift. They don’t offer ten or even fifteen minute breaks
