      Avantages

      The best reason to join Ansoft is to work with world-class experts in electromagnetism R&D engineers have a great autonomy in their work , flexible hours, and benefit from the lack of management skills from the upper management (excepted for the CTO and founder of course) Great compensation but will not last with our recent acquisition by ANSYS

      Inconvénients

      Benefits beside compensation are not great in particular no 401k matching Very difficult to transfer health benefits to non-married partners (although it's possible in theory) Low moral since ANSYS acquisition Key Ansoft executives have been let go, the others are mostly busy saving their job rather than showing leadership .

      Top notch R&D Reputation High salary for talented engineers

      Inconvénients

      Low moral since acquisition by ANSYS ANSYS payscale and benefits are much lower, up to 50% less for R&D engineers

      Avantages

      Really great environment. Work at your own pace and still be very productive. The work is also very interesting and challenging, but there is little in terms of an overall idea or concept. This can be great, if you are passionate about your specific project and self-motivated enough to get things done. The management is great and since most of the employees are very self motivated, the work environment is fun to be a part of.

      Inconvénients

      no structure - pretty much none at all. Everyone is responsible for their own project; occasionally people will split off into groups of two or three to get things done, but there is not much more cohesion than that. Work is pretty much dictated by what a customer or small group of customers needs that month. This means that a lot of time can be spent on features that will only be used once by one person. This makes it hard for all the completed projects to work together. Legacy code is a real problem
