Avantages

Nothing comes to mind. Some days the only reason I can find to go to work is to see my work mates, the pay is certainly no motivation.

Inconvénients

They pay a few pence above minimum wage and tell you its above the industry average. Treat you like cattle. Promise you full time hours, you're lucky to get more than 16/week. This month (Feb) we will be paid an "industry leading" annual bonus of £91. Minimum respect for health and safety that the law allows. Almost daily bag/pocket searches and locker searches in absentia for staff while known shoplifters and the gang of local hooligans are allowed to roam free because they don't want to cause a fuss on the shop floor. We're forced to work Christmas eve, Christmas day (night staff), Boxing day, New years day etc whether they fall on a day you're contracted to work or not. I'm quite convinced that one is required to fail an IQ test in order to become a manager. Customers who are abusive to staff are often rewarded with a good will payment and whatever it is they wanted whether it is legal or not, the use of healthy start vouchers for prohibited products and the sale of alcohol to a group of people not all of whom can prove their age, are the most common examples. Anyone who is not inclined to brown nose has no hope of any sort of promotion or even overtime unless it's on ASDAs terms. Flat rate pay, no higher rate for evenings sundays etc. ...
