Avantages
APLU has many layers of diversity. As a whole, the organization and staff are committed to long-term, sustainable diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across the organization (internally and externally). APLU has AMAZING benefits. It's a great place to launch your career, gain professional development, learn, and get exposure to many different industries within higher ed (there are probably more than you think--especially if you haven't worked in higher ed before). Opportunities for growth, especially if you're interested in a career in association work or higher ed long term. Good people who care about doing good work.
Inconvénients
It's a small/medium size non-profit, so it's possible to outgrow the organization, but not really not a bad thing. The organization and the experience gained set people up to succeed in whatever is next. Have seen this time and time again.
