In my current role at Goldman Sachs, I’ve developed forecasting-related experience primarily through financial reporting, variance analysis, and building data-driven insights for decision-making. While my title is in asset servicing, a large part of my work overlaps with treasury and financial operations, where I analyze cash flows, asset movements, and income streams such as dividends and interest. I regularly track actuals versus expected values and investigate variances by identifying root causes—whether they come from timing differences, market changes, or operational issues. This process is very similar to forecasting refinement, where understanding drivers is critical. Additionally, I’ve built reporting frameworks and dashboards using Excel and SQL to monitor trends and support forward-looking analysis. For example, by analyzing historical transaction patterns and cash activity, I’ve helped improve visibility into liquidity movements and operational planning. Through my MBA coursework, I also gained formal experience in forecasting methods, including building models to project revenue and financial performance based on key drivers. Overall, I’d say my strength is connecting historical data with business drivers to create meaningful, forward-looking insights, and I’m excited to apply that more directly in a dedicated FP&A role.
