If there's one company to avoid, Noom is the one! Absolutely the worst company interview process ever, and met some very incompetent people at in-person interview, which was a surprise - including a C-level someone who had previously worked at Google, and another manager who was unwilling to listen to anything about React Native, most likely due to lack of his own knowledge. Applied online, and took a long time to get interview scheduled. - Had 2 skype interviews - Then was given a coding challenge, which took more than 15 hours, because they wanted backend, database, frontend, a mailer, and a mail-tracker. (They seriously wanted a utility that would email, and some way to track when the email was opened). Too much work frankly. - Another skype with couple engineers to discuss solution. - Next was in-person scheduled at their NY office with 5-6 people one by one. The C-level person mentioned above who had previously worked at Google was extremely condescending - he kept asking same question to prove his superiority, and to prove he knew more than others, not realizing that every workplace has different process for SDLC. It was very clear from his continuous asking of exact same question that he was looking for a particular keyword in what candidate spoke - and if keyword wasn't found, candidate failed. From the interview with him for a few minutes, he seemed like a not-cool person to work for. - In person interview also involves founder, where he asks algorithm questions. This is extremely surprising, and absolutely stupid to see, because when your company has so many engineers who themselves don't ask algorithm questions, founder wants to come in and grill people for an answer he already knows and has prepared and re-iterated many times, whereas he could be spending that valuable time providing better guidance to employees and working to strengthen company vision. Also make note that if you get invited for in-person interview, ask them to pay for hotel+flight or any other expenses prior to doing booking yourself. It takes a long time, and many emails back-and-forth to get reimbursed - this sort of aligns with their reviews/complaints on websites.

At Noom, we have a super transparent culture, and take all feedback very carefully. However, after reviewing the experience of this particular candidate, we found a large number of inaccuracies that we wanted to quickly point out: 1) With regards to the reimbursement, we actually offer every candidate the default option for Noom to book flight and hotel directly to avoid a large upfront interview expense. However, some candidates choose to book their own and get reimbursed for personal reasons (rewards/miles, seat/meal preferences, Date of Birth disclosure by airlines, etc). Unfortunately, because this candidate also wanted to get reimbursed in foreign currency, there was a bit of a delay. We will work to speed this up in the future, but this is a really rare case. 2) The candidate took much longer than normal to do the coding challenge, which we typically expect to only take one or two hours—something that we explicitly communicate when we assign it. 3) Our VP of Engineering (who is the manager referenced in the question) does a behavioral interview to test for culture fit, and we test knowledge of technology like React in a different interview. We don't like to repeat content across interview, and instead try to run a careful structured interview process. 4) We spoke to our President and (Technical) Co-Founder, whose interview is referenced in the feedback. We looked over the feedback, and found the candidate unfortunately did very poorly on the interview -- and it was not a deep algorithmic interview, but rather involved some very basic data structures on a real-life problem. We always strive to provide hints to candidates during the interview when they struggle (to keep going in the problem), and are sorry the candidate found them condescending -- this is the first time we hear this feedback after hundreds of interviews. Rest assured, we don't look for any keywords, but are looking to hear how a candidate approaches a problem. And yes, our Co-Founder likes to interview everyone that is hired, because hiring is extremely critical to the mission of the company, not any less critical than vision! We hope this helps shed some light on the situation.

I applied for the Software Developer position and was contacted by the recruiter for an initial discussion. The interview process consisted of an HR screening followed by a technical interview with the hiring manager and development team. The interview focused on my experience with software development, problem-solving skills, project experience, and technical knowledge. The atmosphere was professional and friendly, and I was given the opportunity to ask questions about the role and company. The entire process took approximately two weeks from the first contact to the final outcome.

Reached the final on-site stage, which included a technical interview and a planned meeting with the CTO. The recruiting process up to that point was positive—the recruiter was responsive and professional, and both engineers I met during earlier rounds were approachable and respectful. However, the on-site experience was inconsistent with expectations. The technical interview was intended to be conducted with an engineer, followed by a separate discussion with the CTO. Instead, the CTO joined midway through the technical session, appeared disengaged, and did not participate in the initial introduction. During the exercise, I made a minor syntax error; although the overall approach and solution were optimal, I was advised to use AI tools to explore alternatives. When I referenced the planned follow-up conversation, I was informed that there would be no separate meeting, and the interview was concluded abruptly with general advice to continue practicing. Overall, the experience felt disjointed and somewhat unprofessional, particularly given the lack of structure and deviation from the communicated interview process.

Meeting with HR, positive experience. Recruiter was nice and gave good advice/information. 2 technical interviews after, definitely have good proficiency in OOP and DSA. I don't know what else to say for the 30 word minimum, didn't receive an offer.

      Questions d'entretien [1]

      Question 1

General behavioral questions, talk about yourself and past experiences. Recruiter goes through your resume and asks about different projects that you've been a part of.
