On 8 November 2017 I attended the Midlands Annual job fair at Dutch Square Mall and met the Newell Brands recruiter. On 10 Nov 2017 I applied for the job of Operations Manager Lawn and Garden-Applied Materials - Process Solutions with Newell Brands here in Columbia, SC. I was then called the VP for that area and asked to come in for an On-Site interview. On 16 November 2017 I arrived for my scheduled interview. The VP was all of a sudden busy so he was not there. The acting Operations Manager for Lawn and Garden who came back from retirement to cover the opening until it was filled, interviewed me and conducted a Plant tour. He informed me that he felt I was perfect for the job so he would get in touch with the VP and try to schedule something for Monday or Tuesday as he knew the VP would be going out of town for Thanksgiving. I told him that I would also be going out of town for Thanksgiving.
I e-mailed him on 20 November 2017 asking him if there was a certain date or time in which he would like to conduct an additional interview. He e-mailed me back on 22 November suggesting 27 Nov 2017 at 3 pm. I informed him that I was in Ohio and would not be back until after 1 December. I have never heard from him since then even though I followed up thru e-mail, letter and phone message stating that I was excited about the Company and position and would love to meet up with him for an additional interview.
If this is the follow through and respect that one can expect from this Company….I guess I am glad that I did not get this position. I guess the lord works in mysterious ways. Yes this position is still posted.
