Applied for entry level Applications Support Engineer trough past employee at MathWorks. The overall hiring process from HR was quick without long delays between interviews, HR is also helpful and responsive to questions. I submitted my resume through a friend who worked there and established first contact. Started with two phone interviews, one behavioral interview and one technical interview. Then I was invited for a "College Day" event where 8 candidates was invited to be on-site. Both the phone interview was the same as all postings here, and the on-site interview consists of 3 one-on-one interviews and presentation/lunch/tour of the company. The 1:1 interviews are respectively with a manager, a HR and a senior engineer. Both the manager and HR focused on interviewing behavioral questions, and the senior engineer ask programing/math/engineering/MATLAB questions. Basic questions focusing on programing concepts and optimize use of computing. I've gotten a fast response on a favorable on-site review and was processed for a background check and reference check, but was not given an offer afterwards. By company policy there is no feedback and wouldn't know why they kept me till the end of the process but did not offer, since I have no background and reference troubles.

There were three phases for recruiting procedures. The first stage was a brief and relaxing conversation, the second stage was about technical things and hiring manager asked several questions in the third stage.
