J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Marchex (Seattle, WA) en mai 2008
Entretien
Interview process takes about 5 hours. Be careful, the details given in the interviews were not completely true and there were a lot of surprises once I started work. Mainly, they were not honest about their turn over rates which is extremely high. Also, the business is quite complex so understanding in the interview process will be difficult. Make sure you know exactly which product you will be responsible for.

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Marchex (Seattle, WA) en nov. 2009
Entretien
There were multiple rounds of interviews starting with a recruiter phone screen, then a phone interview with the hiring manager, followed by a 5 hour interview loop with 5 different people, and then on to an executive level interview. The recruiter was very proactive in providing information and feedback throughout the process which was great. The interviews themselves were quite detailed and a few tough questions were asked but overall it wasn't too bad.

Question 1
Pick a product you use every day and tell me how you would make it better, and why?

One phone screening followed by several back to back in person interviews downtown. Nice offices, interviews were set in a spacious conference room and people were solicitous about breaks, etc. LIke most places the hiring manager interview was last - would be nice to have that first since it's them you really want to make a great impression on and after several hours you're a bit fried. The questions were more about skills and motivation than specific knowledge of their products - do your basic research and you'll be OK.

What KPIs would you use to track whether your product was performing to plan and how would you take corrective action if it wasn't?
