Contacted by an internal recruiter who found me via social media site. He knew nothing of the division and couldn't answer any of my questions... my questions weren't even very specific to the apparel industry! He was able to give me only the overview of how many worldwide employees, travel is required and there is fast advancement.
I was interested and was offered a phone interview with someone who is actually in the division and could answer some questions about travel and the level/caliber of companies that work with them. He made it sound like it wasn't the 'follow up' interview, it was so that I could be given more information to see if I wanted to proceed with the next step.... silly me.
I asked a ton of questions which were very specific to my industry, but I also asked about the travel and how this person balances life due to travel up to 5 days a week. I came home a few days later to a message on my machine that basically said I wasn't a good fit because I asked too many questions about the travel. Nice...
Glad that I didn't pursue it if they don't value intelligent questions to make sure that it's the right fit....
