Avantages
- It's an SME; environment is warm, and it's friendly in terms of environment. - The work itself is not complicated, if you can handle it, and if you can handle being here, it builds character. - You learn about things to consider when building a bus body. - You gain a lot of manufacturing knowledge. - The Chairman and one of the more Senior Production Supervisors are patient in teaching people. Both are capable men, of proven strength.
Inconvénients
It is not a good first job for a person who wishes to become an engineer. It comes under highly not recommended. - There is a severe lack of understanding of what engineers actually do. - There is a severe lack of development in terms of personal skills and engineering capabilities development - not very good for skills development for future jobs. - Management tends to prioritise sending people on contracts (and therefore people who tend to be foreigners) for courses. - The lack of design substantiation (stress calculations, simulations, etc.) pertaining to bus building in general. - There is a lack of induction programmes. - The workload is extremely high, and unevenly distributed. - Overworking (clocking 11-12 hour days) as an engineer is very normal, expected, but purposefully blindsided by management. No OT/allowances on weekdays. - Severe lack of planning, and considerations for pre-planning of work. Schedules can be flipped literally upside down on a whim. - Management tends to appeal to emotion or be cutthroat to get what they want, unfortunately extended to employees as well.
