Avantages

- Working directly with families, seeing them grow

Inconvénients

- Bad pay (unless you're the CEO) - Irresponsible, immature leadership (punishment for giving feedback, super passive aggressive, does not care about the work at all) - Racist staff & leadership (both reported from former staff and residents) - Staff are over-worked, and asked to do things that they are not trained for (being in charge of a daycare, wellness checks, de-escalation, handling dangerous situations, etc.) - Lots of turnover with no real plans of coverage - Unsupportive environment when it comes to bad relationships between co-workers or employees/supervisors

Avantages

Jeremiah Program is super mission-driven, and it shows in the passion of the staff. The team culture is supportive and collaborative, and the people you meet are genuinely amazing. Chastity, the CEO, is great. She’s warm and welcoming, even hugs you just to say hello and thank you without asking about your position and title. I have never had this experience with a CEO and it makes you feel seen. The work is really rewarding, and the kids are the absolute best part. Hearing their stories makes it worth it if you love this work. The community support is awesome as well.

Inconvénients

There are huge challenges with structure, communication, and workload balance. Processes aren’t always clear, which can make things inefficient depending on the team or department. Staff retention is talked about a lot, but follow-through is inconsistent. There’s also a communication gap between CST and onsite staff that hasn’t really changed over the years I've been here. The workload and pressure can be intense, and burnout is real—I honestly felt more burned out here than anywhere else I’ve worked. There are basically no professional growth opportunities, and it’s hard to see a long-term path within the company.
